Hyper Range Test

Today’s Range Test

I have been planning this since the time I have got 200km in ECO Mode
2 times I was able to do it in ECO
I always wondered is it possible in Hyper as even though we are riding slowly even a small pinch of acceleration can give so much power that may affect the range at the end
So what to do
Let’s have a test i thought so

Started the Journey from 6:49am
Hyper Mode
30-35 Speed
Regen Off
I always do Range Test in a loop around my locality one side 90km

The start was a sort of comedy
Within 700m 100% changed to 99%
I was like ahh it’s ok it happens usually :sweat_smile:
In Next 1.3km 99-98%
Now what I have is 2km with 98%
Now my meter looks at me like " Are you Serious Bro?":face_with_hand_over_mouth:
Ahh I just don’t Care
It’s a 2 year old scooter have done 35k Km so its quite natural to happen I said to myself and continued
First milestone came 100-89% It was supposed to give me 22km atleast where now I just got hardly 19Km😐
I Just thought if so like this I won’t be able to complete this test
Then I just looked at meter again I just saw all features are turned on
Even though it might not consume charge that much bt today I am doing a 6-7hr continuous ride even all small bits matters
So I just turned off all features like Bluetooth, auto indicator, hill hold, Halo always on etc…

While riding I was using power meter this time as I am not playing any music
I just noticed that even in Plain roads with soft acceleration power meter I going around 0.6-0.8kW and at hills it went all the way up to 1.0-1.4kW
That made a dbt in my mind about the Tyre pressure :slightly_smiling_face::upside_down_face:
What can I do now no Tyre Shop is Open till 9am
So I just ride with it
Then came the next milestone 75% I have covered 49km which was ok ok just 1km less than predicted 50km
Continued again
At 73% Km ridden tallyed with % used
For a moment I was happy
It just lasted few seconds till I remembered that I can use only upto 3%
And now I have to have an extra of 6Km atleast to have a perfect tally:slightly_smiling_face::upside_down_face::smiling_face_with_tear:
Again continued after 70Km saw a Tyre Shop
Without any delema stoped there
I was right!!!
Tyre Pressure was low
All this time:upside_down_face::smiling_face_with_tear: I was running on a Loss

Now after Filling up
I just immediately felt the difference
2.3km+ / % was easy peasy from then😅
Noticed the power meter now
On Flat road now it’s 0.3-0.5kW
On hills 0.6-0.8kW
At 93km I turn and returned back the same way

Then I continued till I reached the next milestone 50%
I have covered 104.9km
Almost 5km extra
Now I have that confidence I can do this :sweat_smile:

Continued again
Till I received a call saying my watch which I gave for repair is fixed I can collect it now
So I have to go there which is right in the middle of town and that too in a steep hill😅

I reached there and as expected that incline took 1.5kW max and as a result all extra km I got started to come down
I was like ahh now what :slightly_smiling_face::slightly_smiling_face:

Then after some rounds in the town i got back on the main highway which took a pretty decent amount of charge in the morning

While riding back I have got the realisation that no matter at what speed i ride here it’s going to consume charge because of the road’s inclination

Continued till next milestone 25%
Now I am good 156.9km
7km extra is good

Continued again and reached home with 11% left and covered 188.4Km

I was tired and had my lunch
Then continued again for 14 more kms
Just to finish that 11% and reach 200km mark :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Last 14km didn’t give me good efficiency because of the inclined roads
And I finally reached my Home with 4% left and covered 202.5Km:sweat_smile:

I have waited some time and then Plugged the Scooter
Charging is always important as we can’t keep it on low charge for long period

I will Share the Ride Data

Route Map is not yet available
It usually takes some time to load

Avg Speed in Ride Data is Wrong in Scooter it’s correct
It happens when I stop and take the scooter again
I think it’s some kind of a calculation mistake with the app
Hope it will be fixed soon

This happens in new Ola S1 pro Gen 2
As I have purchased this vechile 1 day ago
Iam not satisfied by the range that ola usually says
All the commitment done by ola are usually false
And I am not going to recommend this scooter to any one

Going in 20-30km speed doesn’t solve our range anxieties in day to day life we can’t go at that speed in this hury bury world so big numbers are not that much useful but practical numbers matters a lot
